Greetings and welcome to Open Position Online.
My name is Robin Stone and I am an Associate Professor in the Guitar Department. I have been teaching in the Guitar Department since 1990 and I recently took over the job of Managing Editor of Open Position, the Guitar Departments newsletter. Open Position has not been published since Charles Chapman left the college in 2002. During the fall ’07 semester I came up with the idea of publishing Open Position once again but as an online magazine. I hope to provide the internet community with an inside look into the guitar department, its faculty, administrators and staff. A publication showcasing what we do here, filled with interviews, articles, pictures and transcriptions. I am honored to be the new managing editor of Open Position and it is my hope to present the Guitar Department, it’s faculty, staff and students, in a positive and thoughtful manner. Welcome to the first issue in a new era of Open Position.
