LOOP: Connecting Actual & Virtual Worlds

The concept of mixed reality—of combining aspects of the actual and virtual worlds in experiences, media, and installations—can be summarized with the word “loop.”  Like a music loop, it repeats, and can form the basis for endless variations and transformations.
It becomes a new basic unit of the mix, of a creative process that starts with something that is already made, already a mash-up.  When we bring in the idea of the collaboration, of the global network that transcends actual place to create virtual spaces for jamming of all kinds that bridge the actual and the virtual, we truly begin to actualize the virtual, in all possible realities.
